This pin says:”Bashkir”.
Bashkir was a autonomous Soviet Socialistic Republic. Currently it is known as Bashkortostan. Originally this region was inhabited with Turkish nomad people. Russians arrived in the mid-16th century, founding the city of Ufa, now the republic’s capital. Numerous local uprisings broke out in opposition to the settlement of larger Russian populations in the centuries that followed. The Bashkirs finally give up nomadic life in the 19th century, adopting the agricultural lifestyle that remains their primary means of support. The traditional clan-based social structure has largely disappeared.
The republic has rich mineral resources, especially petroleum, natural gas, iron ore, manganese, copper, salt, and construction stone. The Soviet government built a variety of heavy industries on that resource base.

Propagandastamp showing Kim Il Sung. Kim was the son of parents who fled to Manchuria during his childhood to escape the Japanese rule of Korea. He attended elementary school in Manchuria and, while still a student, joined a communist youth organization. He was arrested and jailed for his activities with the group in 1929–30. After Kim’s release from prison, he joined the Korean guerrilla resistance against the Japanese occupation sometime during the 1930s and adopted the name of an earlier legendary Korean guerrilla fighter against the Japanese. Kim was noticed by the Soviet military authorities, who sent him to the Soviet Union for military and political training. There he joined the local Communist Party.
During World War II, Kim led a Korean contingent as a major in the Soviet army. After the Japanese surrender in 1945, Korea was effectively divided between a Soviet-occupied northern half and a U.S.-supported southern half. At this time Kim returned with other Soviet-trained Koreans to establish a communist provisional government under Soviet auspices in what would become North Korea. He became the first premier of the newly formed Democratic People’s Republic of Korea in 1948, and in 1949 he became chairman of the Korean Workers’ (communist) Party.
In 1950 the Korean war started. . With help of Chinese support he was able to repel a subsequent invasion of North Korea by UN forces. The Korean War ended in a stalemate in 1953.
Kim Il Sung was leader of North Korea from 1948 until 1994 when he died. He outlived Stalin by 4 decades, Mao Zedong with 2, and stayed in power long enough to outrun 6 South Korean presidents, 9 USA presidents and 21 Japanese prime ministers. After his death his son Kim Jong Il became the leader of North Korea.
The North Korean government to this day refers Kim Il Sung as the Supreme Leader and the Eternal President.

Dimitrov was a Bulgarian communist politician. He was the first communist leader of Bulgaria, from 1946 to 1949. Dimitrov led the Communist International from 1934 to 1943. He was a theorist of capitalism who expanded Lenin’s ideas by arguing that fascism was the dictatorship of the most reactionary elements of financial capitalism.
He was born in 1882. In 1923 he was one of the leaders of a communistic revolt in Bulagria. The revolt failed and he went to Russia. Later he went to Germany. In 1946 he went back to Bulagria and in 1946, Dimitrov declared Bulgaria a people’s republic and the country became a communist state. His foreign policy was extremely pro-Soviet, but his plans for a Balkan federation with Yugoslavia were grounded by Joseph Stalin (1947-1948). He has since fallen out of favor with Stalin. On the 3rd. of July 1988 a missle shot from navy vessel USS Vincennes hit the Iranian Airliner. The aircraft, an Airbus A300, was destroyed and all 290 people on board, including 66 children, were killed. The jet was hit while flying over Iran’s territorial waters in the Persian Gulf. The Navy crew of the ship had incorrectly identified the Airbus as an attacking F-14 Tomcat, while not been able to communicate with the aircraft. The Iranians claimed that the navy vessel shot down the airliner on purpose.
Some analysts blamed the captain of Vincennes, William C. Rogers III, for overly-aggressive behavior in a tense and dangerous environment. In the days immediately following the incident, U.S. President Ronald Reagan issued a written diplomatic note to the Iranian government, expressing deep regret.
After the hit from the missle the plane disintegrated immediately. The cockpit voice recorder and flight data recorder were never found.

Well, not really a pin but a keychain. It shows the weapon of Olkusz on a piece of wood.
Olkusz is located south of Poland and contains 36.000 inhabitants. Olkusz is called ‘Silver Town” because of the large amount of silver that was found and mined here.
3rd. of July 1940 is known as ”Bloody Wednesday Of Olkusz”. A German police unit gathered all Jewish men over 14 and they were then subjected to hours of bullying sadism, forced to lie face down in the city square and beaten if they moved. Three men died from the beatings. The event was absolutely unexceptional as regards the treatment of Jews in Poland, but on this occasion however photographs, taken by at least one German present, survive.
In total over 3 million Jews died in WWII in Poland.
