Propaganda poster from Hungary made in the 1970’s. The text on the poster says:” Civilian protection, the most important responsibility is human life and goods. Get ready for protection”. The poster was made by Pal Gyorgy.
Pal Gyorgy’s (1906-1986) first posters appeared in 1927. From that time on, he designed numerous commercial posters. After 1945 he became a frequently commissioned poster artist, and he designed several propaganda posters during the 1950’s. He designed posters for the election campaigns of the ruling communist party, Népfront (People’s Front), which was the only political party at the time.
In the 1950’s his designs followed the strict socialist realist manner. He used the established visual elements: smiling workers, cheering crowds and symbols of the new regime: red star and flag, the new coat of arms of Hungary, sickle and hammer. The target audience of his posters was the workers and the peasantry: they depict everyday people in simple settings, with shrill colors.

This pin is about Cosmonaut Feoktistov. This is his amazing story:
Konstantin Petrovich Feoktistov (1926-2009) was a Soviet cosmonaut and an eminent space engineer. Feoktistov also wrote several books on space technology and exploration. The Feoktistov crater on the far side of the Moon is named in his honor.
During the Nazi occupation, at the age of just 16, Feoktistov fought with the Soviet Army against the German troops, carrying out reconnaissance missions.
After being captured by a Waffen SS Army patrol, Feoktistov was shot by a German officer. However, the bullet went right through his chin and neck and did not kill him. Feoktistov was able to escape and then make his way to the Soviet lines.
In 1955, Feoktistov formed part of the team that went on to design the Sputnik satellites, the Vostok space capsule, the Voskhod space capsule, and the Soyuz space capsule.
In 1964 he was assigned to the Voskhod 1 crew. He was the first civilian to make a space flight, and the only cosmonaut in the Soviet Union who was not a member of the Communist Party of the Soviet Union. During his space flight, he spent just over 24 hours and 17 minutes in space.
In 1969, Konstantin Feoktistov and Georgi Beregovoi traveled as guests of NASA throughout the US, able to visit any city they chose Disneyland in California. They were joined on the trip by US astronauts Eugene Cernan, Neil Armstrong and others.
If a band was present the song “Fly Me to the Moon” was played, then he joked with the US astronauts that they went to Disneyland and not the moon. It was a trip that all enjoyed and international friendships were made.
In 1990 he went to the Moscow Higher Technical School as a professor. He was highly decorated.

Wallpiece made of aluminum with copper layer. The image is that of a Bolshevik warrior on a horse. the text says:”For Soviet Power”. On the back there is a hammer and sickle with dates 1918-1968. To commemorate the Russian civil war.
The Russian Civil War was a multi party civil war in the former Russian Empire immediately after the two Russian Revolutions of 1917.
The two largest combatant groups were the Red Army, fighting for the Bolshevik form of socialism led by Vladimir Lenin, and the loosely allied forces known as the White Army, which included diverse interests favouring political monarchism, economic capitalism and alternative forms of socialism, each with democratic and anti democratic variants. In addition, rival militant socialists and non ideological Green armies fought against both the Bolsheviks and the Whites.
The Red Army eventually defeated the White Armed Forces of South Russia in Ukraine. Lesser battles of the war continued for two more years, and minor skirmishes with the remnants of the White forces in the Far East continued well into 1923. The war ended in 1923 in the sense that Bolshevik communist control of the newly formed Soviet Union was now assured, although armed national resistance in Central Asia was not completely crushed until 1934. There were an estimated 7-12 million casualties during the war, mostly civilians.

Pin about the 9th. of may.
Victory Day is a holiday that commemorates the surrender of Nazi Germany in 1945. It was first inaugurated in the 15 republics of the Soviet Union, following the signing of the German Instrument of Surrender German surrender. Late in the evening on 8 May 1945 (after midnight, thus on 9 May Moscow Time). The Soviet government announced the victory early on 9 May after the signing ceremony in Berlin.
The surrender was signed twice. An initial document was signed in Reims on 7 May 1945 by the Western Allied Forces. Since the Soviet High Command had not agreed to the text of the surrender, the USSR requested that a second, revised, instrument of surrender be signed in Berlin. Joseph Stalin declared that the Soviet Union considered the Reims surrender a preliminary document, and Eisenhower immediately agreed with that. Another argument was that some German troops considered the Reims instrument of surrender as a surrender to the Western Allies only, and fighting continued in the East, especially in Prague.
A quote of Stalin:
“Today, in Reims, Germans signed the preliminary act on an unconditional surrender. The main contribution, however, was done by Soviet people and not by the Allies, therefore the capitulation must be signed in front of the Supreme Command of all countries of the anti-Hitler coalition, and not only in front of the Supreme Command of Allied Forces. Moreover, I disagree that the surrender was not signed in Berlin, which was the center of Nazi aggression. We agreed with the Allies to consider the Reims protocol as preliminary.”
