Hungarian model of the Fecske Windglider. Handmade model of metal, presumably aluminum. Hand painted. Glider stands on a brass bracket with an aluminum base.
Type designation: EV.1.K. Name: Fecske. Designer: Young designers from the PGE. In 1964, a group of young engineers from the factory’s design office decided to create a performance glider that would surpass all previous Hungarian gliders. The design was started in 1965. The factory accepted the design and the team, which began operating in early 1967. The glider first flew on September 18, 1969. After the flight tests were completed, the Hungarian Glider Team began getting the glider for operational tests. In October 1970, the glider’s wings were cut off in flight due to a serious pilot error. The glider was destroyed and the pilot lost his life. No example has been built anymore.
