Bust of Lenin made of aluminium. On the back of the bust there is the signature of the maker and the year 1975.
In 1960-1980-s Vladimir Sychev (1917-1995) worked on monumental sculpture. For several decades he created over 300 works in bronze, granite and marble. Most notable, in particular, are high reliefs and bas-reliefs at metro stations “Frunzenskaya”, “Narva” and “Ploshchad Vosstaniya”. As well as a monument to SM Kirov at the Elektrosila plant, a bust of Lenin in the Tauride Palace, a sculptural composition and a light curtain In the Tauride Garden. Vladimir Sychev died in 1995, continuing to work until the last days. Unfortunately, in the post-Soviet years, many of his projects remained unrealized. However, the artist’s studio still keeps many sketches, models, busts, and small sculptural forms. Currently, in the creative workshop of his father, fruitfully works his son – sculptor Andrei Vladimirovich Sychev.

Bust of Friedrich Engels.
Friedrich Engels (1820–1895) was a German philosopher, historian, communist, social scientist, sociologist, journalist and businessman. His father was an owner of large textile factories in England.
Engels developed what is now known as Marxist theory together with Karl Marx and in 1845 he published The Condition of the Working Class in England, based on personal observations and research in English cities. In 1848, Engels co-authored The Communist Manifesto with Marx and also authored and co-authored (primarily with Marx) many other works. Later, Engels supported Marx financially, allowing him to do research and write Das Kapital. After Marx’s death, Engels edited the second and third volumes of Das Kapital. Additionally, Engels organised Marx’s notes on the Theories of Surplus Value, which were later published as the “fourth volume” of Das Kapital. In 1884, he published The Origin of the Family, Private Property and the State on the basis of Marx’s ethnographic research.

Bronze statue of Karl Marx. In very good condition. The inscription on the front says:”Proletarian Of All Nations Unite!”. The real statue stands in Moscow on the revolution Square and is made by Lev Kerbel.
Lev Efimovich Kerbel (1917-2003) was a sculptor of Soviet realist works. Kerbel’s creations included statues of Marx, Lenin, Yuri Gagarin, which were sent by Soviet Government as gifts to socialist and the Third World countries across the world.
In the 1990s following the collapse of the socialist bloc many of his works of art were destroyed. However his enormous Karl Marx monument in Chemnitz, formerly Karl-Marx-Stadt, has been preserved as a cultural monument.
Kerbel was born to a Russian Jewish family in the village of Semyonovka in Russia (currently Ukraine) on the day that the Winter Palace in Petrograd was stormed by the Bolsheviks setting off the October Revolution.
During World War II, Kerbel helped build the defenses for the Battle of Moscow, then served in the Northern Fleet.
After the war, Kerbel’s career took off with a wide range of commissions. In 1958 he sculpted a statue in China that depicted a huge Soviet and an equally large Chinese worker hand in hand. When Soviet-Chinese relations foundered a few years later, the statue was torn down by a mob. While some people dismiss Kerbel’s works as a form of flat Communist propaganda, Kerbel himself said that he was always more interested in art than politics. Many people now view his few remaining statues with nostalgia, particularly in Chemnitz (formerly known as Karl Marx Stadt, where his bust of Karl Marx is referred to as ‘the head’.
One of Kerbel’s last works was the memorial to the crew of the Kursk submarine, inaugurated in Moscow in 2003.

Absolute beautiful and well made bust of Ho Chi Minh. This bust is rare and bought in the 70’s in Vietnam.
Ho Chi Minh (1890-1969) was a Vietnamese revolutionary and politician. He served as Prime Minister of North Vietnam from 1945 to 1955 and then its President from 1945 to 1969. Ideologically a Marxist-Leninist, he served as Chairman and First Secretary of the Workers’ Party of Vietnam. He founded the Democratic Republiek Of Vietnam in 1945.
Any description of Ho Chi Minh’s life before he came to power in Vietnam is open for discussion. He is known to have used at least 50 and perhaps as many as 200 pseudonyms. Both his place and date of birth are subjects of academic debate since neither is known with certainty. At least four existing official biographies vary on names, dates, places and other hard facts while unofficial biographies vary even more widely.
He has got an iconic status for first beating the French in 1954 and for beating the United States and South Vietnam in the Vietnam War.
The Vietnam war costs was between 600.000-1.6 million deaths on the North Vietnam side while South Vietnam suffered between 700.000 and 1 million deaths including almost 60,000 American lives.
With the outcome of the Vietnam War still in question, Ho Chi Minh died of heart failure at his home in Hanoi 1969; he was 79 years old. As almost all comunist country’s do, his embalmed body is currently on display in a mausoleum in Ba Dinh Square in Hanoi.

Unusually big and heavy bust of Stalin. This is an old bust and made beautiful. No signature could be discovered but you can tell this is made by with craftmanship. It was obtained by the previous owner 25 years ago in the Czech Republic. As the story goes, this bust was buried during the Second World War making this an old bust.
Due to the weight, the rust and the holes this bust has been standing on a pedestal outside for a long time. The rust on this bust is one of the finest patina I ever saw. You will have a very hard time finding another beautiful bust like this.

Beautiful double bust of Karlx Marx and Lenin. This bust is duplicated and reproduced very much (even now) but this is original. It is made in the 60’s and got a signature of the maker, N. Tomsky, on the back.
Nikolai Tomsky (1900-1984) was a much decorated well know sculptor. The sculptor first came to attention with his memorial to Sergey Kirov, a heroic bronze with friezes around the base, for which he won the 1941 Stalin Prize.
Thereafter his career developed in an official direction; he would be eventually tasked to re-design Lenin’s own sarcophagus, produce Stalin’s bust at Stalin’s grave, and produce at least five major statues of Lenin throughout the Soviet Union. His distinctive red-granite Lenin stood in the Leninplatz of East Berlin from 1970 to 1992.
