Large copper shield on a wooden plate. On the right the calvary of the Red Army, on the left a book with part of a poem and the name of the author. The name of the author is Demyan Bedny.
The first major work of Russian poetry, reflecting the historical events of 1917, was Demyan’s poetic novel “About the land, about the legacy, about the working share.” The lines that ended on it were written on the day of the armed uprising in October.
Yefim Alekseevich Pridvorov, better known by his writer name Demyan Bedny, was a Soviet Russian poet, Bolshevik and satirist. Also in 1911, he published the poem “Of Demyan Bedny”, which led to him being known by that name, and began a private correspondence with Vladimir Lenin which was said to develop into a long-lasting personal friendship. He was a steadfast supporter of the Bolshevik cause throughout the Russian Revolution and Civil War, writing agitprop from the frontlines. For this he was decorated with the Order of the Red Banner in 1923, followed by the Order of Lenin in 1933. In the 1920s and 1930s, he was very popular and variously supported by the Soviet regime.
Bedny amassed one of the largest private libraries in the Soviet Union (over 30.000 volumes), from which Stalin was known to borrow books on occasion. His poem commemorating the Soviet victory on Nazi Germany was published in Pravda on May 3, 1945. Bedny died two weeks later, on May 19.

The Socialist Unity Party of Germany was the governing Marxist–Leninist political party of the German Democratic Republic (GDR) from the country’s foundation in October 1949 until its dissolution after the Peaceful Revolution in 1989. The party was established in April 1946.
The GDR was a one-party state but other institutional popular front parties were permitted to exist in alliance with the SED, these parties being the Christian Democratic Union, the Liberal Democratic Party, the Democratic Farmers’ Party, and the National Democratic Party. The SED made the teaching of Marxism-Leninism and the Russian language compulsory in schools. In the 1980s, the SED rejected the liberalisation policies of Soviet leader Mikhail Gorbachev, such as perestroika and glasnost, which would lead to the GDR’s isolation from the restructuring USSR and the party’s downfall in the autumn of 1989.

Cardboard sign with the FDJ logo. These signs were used in parades or to hang on a wall when a FDJ meeting happend.
The Free German Youth, also known as the FDJ (in German Freie Deutsche Jugend), is a youth movement in Germany. Formerly it was the official youth movement of the DDR and the Socialist Unity Party of Germany. The color blue was their primary colour.
The organization was meant for young people, both male and female, between the ages of 14 and 25. In 1981 it had 2.3 million members. After being a member of the Thalmann Pioneers, which was for schoolchildren ages 6 to 14, East German youths would usually join the FDJ. Those who did not join lost access to organized holidays, and found it difficult to be admitted to universities, pursue chosen careers etc. The majority of youths who refused to join did so for religious reasons.
While the movement was intended to promote Marxist–Leninist ideology among East Germany’s young people, it also arranged thousands of holidays for young people through its Jugendtourist agency, and ran discos and open air rock concerts.

Big cardboard emblem of the FDJ. A freindship organisation with the Soviet Union.
The Society for German–Soviet Friendship (in German, Gesellschaft für Deutsch-Sowjetische Freundschaft/DSF) was an East German organization set up to encourage closer co-operation between the German Democratic Republic and the Union of Soviet Socialist Republics.
It was founded as the Society for the Studies of Soviet Culture to teach about Russian culture to Germans unfamiliar with it. It quickly turned into a propaganda tool and eventually changed its name.
Due to the immense popularity of Mikhail Gorbachev with ordinary East Germans disillusioned with their own hardline Communist leaders, the DSF’s membership grew massively in the last years of the regime which many interpret as a sign of support of Gorbachev’s glasnost and perestroika. In 1989 there were 6.3 million members.

Wallpiece made of aluminum with copper layer. The image is that of a Bolshevik warrior on a horse. the text says:”For Soviet Power”. On the back there is a hammer and sickle with dates 1918-1968. To commemorate the Russian civil war.
The Russian Civil War was a multi party civil war in the former Russian Empire immediately after the two Russian Revolutions of 1917.
The two largest combatant groups were the Red Army, fighting for the Bolshevik form of socialism led by Vladimir Lenin, and the loosely allied forces known as the White Army, which included diverse interests favouring political monarchism, economic capitalism and alternative forms of socialism, each with democratic and anti democratic variants. In addition, rival militant socialists and non ideological Green armies fought against both the Bolsheviks and the Whites.
The Red Army eventually defeated the White Armed Forces of South Russia in Ukraine. Lesser battles of the war continued for two more years, and minor skirmishes with the remnants of the White forces in the Far East continued well into 1923. The war ended in 1923 in the sense that Bolshevik communist control of the newly formed Soviet Union was now assured, although armed national resistance in Central Asia was not completely crushed until 1934. There were an estimated 7-12 million casualties during the war, mostly civilians.

This wallpiece is very old. Very well could be from the 30’s or 40’s. On the top it says:”October Revolution”. Beneath that there is a image of the Aurora. A ship wich played a important part of the revolution of 1917.
The ship was made in 1903 and most of the crew joined the Bolshevics who were preparing a communist revolution led by Lenin in 1917. The ship was in Leningrad and fired the first shot of the revolution in the direction of the Winter Palace signalling the start of the October revolution.
In WWII the guns was taken off the ship to use it for the defence of Leningrad. After the war the Aurora was a navy training vessel and later, till this day, a museum located at St. Petersburg (formaly known as Leningrad).

This shield was given to pilots for wishing a save flight. It is a coppershield on a wooden backboard showing Icarus and a airplane. Icarus being a patron saint for pilots.
In Greek mythology, Icarus is the son of the master craftsman Daedalus. Icarus and his father attempt to escape from Crete by means of wings that his father constructed from feathers and wax. Icarus’ father warns him first of complacency and then of hubris, asking that he fly neither too low nor too high, so the sea’s dampness would not clog his wings nor the sun’s heat melt them. Icarus ignored his father’s instructions not to fly too close to the sun; when the wax in his wings melted he tumbled out of the sky and fell into the sea where he drowned, sparking the idiom “don’t fly too close to the sun”.

This is a solid, heavy wall piece with Lenin. It is in perfect condition. Hard to tell how old it is but the hanging mechanism is still present so it was hanging somewhere. On the looks of it is probably from the 70’s mayby early 80’s.
Showing Lenin in relief in stylish Russian art.
You could find pieces like this in schools and factory’s or on somebody’s wall at home.
Lenin was always heavenly honoured being the founding father of the first communistic state in the world. It is a solid piece wich will last easily for 100 years. You can make the wood black or red to make it even more outstanding.
